Threads has rolled out a new feature aimed at improving how users discover trending topics on the platform. As of Tuesday, U.S. users will notice a new label above posts that highlights related trending topics. By tapping on this label, users can view a dedicated window with “Top” and “Recent” tabs to filter and explore posts related to those topics.Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, shared the update, stating, “Hoping this makes it easier to find posts and follow conversations that are relevant to your interests.” This new feature is designed to streamline the process of finding and engaging with content that resonates with users' interests.The trending topics feature began its U.S. testing phase in March and was made widely available to all U.S. users by April. This rollout aligns with Threads' ongoing efforts to enhance user experience by making it simpler to discover and follow relevant content.In addition to this, Threads has been experimenting with various ways to improve content discovery. In May, the platform introduced a multi-feed experience on its desktop interface, similar to TweetDeck, allowing users to customize their content feed more extensively. A limited number of iOS users are currently participating in a test of a similar multi-feed experience on mobile.A Threads spokesperson emphasized the platform’s commitment to continuous improvement, stating, “We’re always testing new ways to enhance the experience on Threads. This latest test aims to provide users with more options to customize their feeds and stay updated on topics that matter most to them.”The new feature is part of Threads' broader strategy to refine content discovery and engagement, addressing user feedback and adapting to evolving preferences in the social media landscape.
